Recent #RichardArmitage Images Really Float My Boat!

This one struck me simply because his eyes look so very blue. Looking at this image, there can be no argument for grey eyes. I even found myself staring at the eyes and wondering if the image had been manipulated, or the man was wearing color contact lenses. At any rate… his eyes are incredible in this pic.

The past couple of weeks, I made a long-overdue adult decision and prioritized my time at work to finally catch up on my stack of charts, which had reached epic proportions. This necessitated me keeping my browser mostly closed and my nose firmly affixed to the grindstone. My Richard Affliction got me there in the first place, along with my lifelong tendency to procrastinate, and I decided to take advantage of the comparatively low-intensity of my ongoing Armitage Preoccupation to get that stuff out of the way. Then, too, I have three quilts-in-progress with a December 25 deadline, so I’ve been sewing every spare moment I have, at home. Needless to say, I’ve hardly had time for my normal Armitage routines. Finally this morning, having at last finished up my backlogged charts, and with a quilting marathon awaiting me at home, I decided I’d post a quick entry on my neglected blog between clients this afternoon. As busy as I’ve been, I *did* take a moment to save an image of Richard Armitage, here and there, out of the ocean of available new material that has appeared with the promotions associated with The Hobbit.

That is a Come Hither Look, if I’ve ever seen one. The more I look at this, the more I start to wish Hubby was available, right this minute. I’d like to put him in a dramatic coat, push him onto the bed, knock the lamp ajar, and jump him. Hubby, that is. *coughs*

This next pic did more than float my boat. It just about caused my ovaries to go into overdrive. I look at this pic, and I just want to… climb him. I don’t know when I’ve seen an image that was quite so stimulating. It seems to hit each of my personal lust-triggers. I don’t even know where to start. The masculine curve along the musculature of his thigh? The length of those limbs? The urge I have to rotate the perspective so I can see just how much his legs are parted, for one foot to be planted on the floor, and the other well onto the mattress?  I love the way the coat falls open, and echoes the dramatic appearance of the collar. I love the sweater. I love the size of the foot and the hand that are closest to my perspective. I love that he’s grasping the headboard. I love the look in those eyes, and the faint smile that I imagine is about to cross his lips. He looks delicious. It’s one of the favorite images I’ve ever seen of him. Thank you, Sarah Dunn. And my apologies, Richard Armitage, for perving.

Richard Armitage, in velvet. I’d never have imagined that would work.

But my perving doesn’t stop there! I have seen several comments that weren’t very positive about the velvet tuxedo in the Daman Magazine shoot, but I like it just fine, in this picture. I enjoy the feel of velvet, and I can’t help but imagine stroking down that jacket. I’d like to stroke down his chest and across his lean torso. Pet his arms. Slide my hand down his back, feeling the muscles under the velvet, and finishing at the level of his lovely rear end. Then there’s the image itself. I love the contemplative, slightly guarded look on his face. The furrowed brow. When I zoom in, I like the way that his nose looks, with a tiny divot on the very end, and how it echoes the bow in his upper lip, the dent in his lower lip, and the slight cleft on his chin. I also like the cuffs on the velvet jacket, which somehow look like they were designed just for him, to compliment the shape and elvish quality of his ears. I also love the side of his face that’s in shadow- the line of his cheekbone above the beard stubble, and the way the light barely catches his eye on that side. For me, another delectable image. And I didn’t even mention the vessels and tendons in his right hand. If there’s one part I didn’t like, it was the lack of definition and shadow on the left hand. If that hand was showing the same definition, this image would be hard to beat.

We have another warm-eyed smile. Richard Armitage, that kills me, every time.

And finally, an image I just saw today. This one’s marginally more wholesome, although if I tried, I could perv over this image, easily. But I’ll try to keep it a little cleaner, because he just looks so sweet. I really like the shape and grooming of the beard.  I love the warm color palette, and that jacket is just amazing.  But what really draws me to this image is that Richard Armitage looks genuinely in a light mood here, and his eyes are very warm, and very engaged. This is the type of affectionate smile and glance I see on Hubby so often, which may be part of why I find it so attractive.

That just gave me an idea. I am totally going to show this picture to the Swisher Twinkle Star fan in my household, and see what she has to say. I wonder if “Rich-ard” looks more like “Swish-er” to her in this pic. I’ll check, and get back to you on that. LOL

Limerick: Richard’s Beard

beard1Because it’s amusing, this limerick is geared
To discuss, in detail, Richard Armitage’s Beard.
It’s a point of contention
And so often mentioned
That to compose nothing in its honor would be weird!

beard2A beard is, of course, a matter of taste…
Some women love it, others back away in haste.
When I was younger
I had no beard-hunger
Then I met Hubby, and found my preference replaced.

beard3Certainly a beard can hide certain defects…
A weak chin, poor jaw line, or a wart that projects!
Some men, no doubt
Allow a beard to sprout
Because facial hair is such a manly effect.

beard4Well, we know that Armitage has nothing to hide…
He can show off his chin and his jaw line with pride!
His chiseled lips
Need no manips
As countless admirers will gladly testify.

beard5And yet, not every man can wear a beard well…
Sometimes it’s sparse, and that looks like hell!
For a beard to attract
It must in fact
Be full enough not to repel.

beard6An illustration of this, I’m sorry to say
Was the look that we saw when he portrayed Monet.
I thought that wisp
Was a fashion miss
And the chatter must have ruined Richard’s day.

beard7That being said, it’s also a fact
That excessively bushy does not attract!
A beard should be shaped
Not to look like an ape
Too much can also detract.

beard8For me, Thorin’s beard does not cross that line…

Though some of the dwarves are too bushy to be fine!
Thorin’s beard is quite full
But it doesn’t read as wool
So most agree when his hotness is opined.

beard9Richard is blessed with the ability to grow
A beard in a hurry, as many photos show.
I have to admit
That along with his lips
I love the soul patch that sits just below.

beard10When Richard expressed the desire to disguise
Proctor’s “weirdbeird” I was surprised
I personally thought
That facial thatch was hot…
And to cover-up with bacon was unwise!

beard11I knew the suggestions that Richard desired
Were a funny diversion, but it was not required!
Proctor’s beard was a work of art
For a Puritan man, he looked stylish and smart!
(Though I eagerly await the photo shoot that transpired.)

beard12We haven’t seen much of Dr. Scott White…
Though the selfie from Sleepwalker was quite a sight!
I’m pretty certain
That when they lift the curtain
My desires for the good doctor will ignite!

beard13It’s always fun to see what is next…
Will the beard stay or go- the fandom’s obsessed!
When Sleepwalker wrapped
Many admirers clapped
For it appeared that the beard had regressed.

beard14Then came a new selfie that seemed to imply:
The beard would be back… the question is why!
Does he just like to tease?
Does wearing a beard now please?
Or does he have a bearded role on standby?

beard15Since I have composed this ode to RA’s facial hair…
One might conclude that I really care!
But that isn’t true
I like him clean-shaven too
In fact, every look he sports causes me to stare!

glove beardI contributed to #OneBeardToBringThemAll myself…
@RichardsBeard was on Twitter longer than Richard himself!
Objectively the topic
Is borderline neurotic
But it seems our Beard Speculations are impossible to shelf.

Revelation: Not Overly Preoccupied

Yeah, so I had an epiphany yesterday, which was my first full day back to normal life after a 4-day, 4-night stint at Children’s Hospital with my young love…. I am Not Really All That Preoccupied With Armitage at the moment. Kind of a welcome change after the past seven months.

I can’t say I never thought about Richard Armitage at all while we were there. That would be asking a little much. I did think about trying for a hospital room selfie watching North and South, but I just wasn’t feeling it. You’d think that N&S would be some kind of comforting tonic I could have used, but apparently not. Maybe I didn’t want to have any negative association with it? Hmmm. I saw a new Richard Selfie on Twitter, and mused about the reappearance of The Beard. Is he gearing up for that video game movie, maybe? I saw a couple of posts on Facebook involving cute manips of Armitage characters in cappuccino art, and then realized that there was some kind of controversy there. (Really, people? Kind of hard to care about fandom brouhahas when you’re concerned whether your child’s eye is going to develop a corneal HSV-1 lesion, you’ve listened to a Code Blue called over the paging system at a Children’s Hospital, and you’ve watched a toddler with chemotherapy hair ride past you in a wheel chair.)

The Young Love was super interested in the workings of this portable ophthalmology mega-scope!

This is not intended to be a downer post. And I’m fairly sure that I’ll be getting back into the swing of the Richarding Life soon. When I get caught up on laundry, housework, patients at work, and most of all, Sleep. (My own bed- how I do love thee. May need to burst forth in Limerick Mode with an Ode to my bed at home!)

I do want to say Thank You So Much, those of you who sent words of encouragement through comments, e-mail, Facebook posts, and forum messages. I had several very low moments, and these kindnesses were so encouraging to me. Chalk up several for the SpReAd the Love Campaign =). For those of you interested, the kiddo’s eye itself is fine- thanks to timely intervention with IV antivirals, it never developed a corneal viral lesion- and the eyelid lesions are now resolving very nicely. He now looks like a child with a scraped up eyelid and a nice shiner. Hopefully nobody seeing us out and about will conclude we punched his lights out. =)

Looks like an IMAX Date Night on opening weekend for BOFA.

And, since I was glued to my kid’s hospital bed, my Hubby made a really sweet gesture as well… he stopped by the IMAX on his way home from the hospital last Friday, and messaged me this picture to boost the spirits. Not quite opening night, but close enough to suit me. He knows me well!

I wonder if there is a lot of catching up to do, Richardwise. It’s creeping in at the edges, that preoccupation, but it’s in the background at the moment, and I’m not averse to keeping it there for a while. Right now I’m counting my blessings and grateful to be off the constant BlisterWatch that’s been my obsession for the past 6 days. Life is good.

Preoccupied with Sleepwalker – RAndom musings

I should totally be writing up an AAHA protocol for what will happen if there is a dispute of ownership over a pet, and one of the clients is overseas while the other client is in prison, and the only way anyone can reach either client is via a third-party who is underage and only available on social media, but…

I’m obsessing over Sleepwalker, instead!

(Just kidding- these endless AAHA protocols are on the ridiculous side, but not quite that far out!)

Thanks to The Anglophile Channel’s timely scoop as well as further clues to be gleaned from the audition videos of cast member Izabella Scorupcos (I’ve forgotten who posted it first, but fantastic work, whoever you are!)… I have been compiling a list of my musings! I thought I’d post them here, so I can come back and compare what actually happens with what my feverish imaginings are at the moment.

So, assuming the information we have doesn’t change, and in no particular order, and maybe having minor spoilers, and purely speculatively:

  • Richard Armitage plays a doctor! Dr. Scott White (This works for me on so many levels!)
  • Specifically a mind doctor, probably well-established and well-respected, if he is head of department.
  • This leads me to believe the character is an intellectual, mature, possible nerdy (?) and supposedly sympathetic. (Please let him wear glasses at least part of the time. Please?)
  • Dr. White has done his due diligence, having already reviewed the case file on Sarah Wells (played by RA’s beautiful, talented and smart Ahna O’Reilly) and concluded her sleepwalking episodes are “grief” related.
  • Is Dr. White possibly a bit distRActed? In an absent-minded professor kind of way? His watch has stopped. Or do strange things just happen with time in this sleep clinic?
  • Is Dr. White, like Sarah Wells, working through his own issues, his own grief? (Sounds right up Richard’s alley, if that’s the case. Brood, baby, brood!)
  • He apparently has some sort of relationship with the other doctor, played by Izabella Scorupcos… she suggests it would be therapeutic for him to involve himself with Sarah’s case, a case revolving around grief. And she has her hair down when she talks to him. Do the doctors have history, as friends, as colleagues, as lovers? (More nuances for Richard to plumb!)
  • Dr. White may have a romantic interest! (?) Sarah is fragile, also presumably an intellectual, if she’s working on a dissertation…
  • Is there already history between Scott and Sarah? If he’s the man she’s dreamed of all her life- is this literally- has he been in her dreams, have they met long ago, or is this just a euphemism for a handsome, sympathetic, intelligent man?
  • We’re told Scott and Sarah enter a “unique relationship”…. very intriguing… just what exactly is a unique relationship? Is it a doctor/patient relationship that crosses accepted boundaries, or just stays on the verge, with sensually charged atmosphere when they are together?
  • We are promised twists– suggests – Dr. White might be playing mind games! (It is billed as a thriller)- or, he could be involved Sarah’s husband’s death!- or, he could be innocently wrapped up in it, possibly be a victim too, possibly by the female doctor colleague!?- or, Sarah could be the crazy one, maybe her husband’s death was not a suicide but her alter ego was responsible and Dr. White is the next target…. (Remember, I’m coming back to this after the movie has premiered, and I’ll see if any of these guesses are correct! =)
  • And, because I can’t ever resist a good beard speculation: Dr. White either has a beard (and glasses, please?)- or, they haven’t yet decided/ but wanted to see how he looks on set/in costume in a beard- or, he will have a beard in part of the movie (flashbacks, early on and shaves later or vice versa)- or, Richard Armitage just prefers to travel with beard and the beard was gone as soon as he started filming.
