Richard Armitage Strikes an Iconic Chord

berlinale cropped

I’m too sexy for my shirt…Too sexy for my shirt… So sexy it hurts

Several new photos emerged over the weekend featuring Richard Armitage at the Berlinale film festival, looking mighty dapper. But while I appreciated all the photos, something about the more candid photo captured here just pushed all the right buttons for me. What I wouldn’t give for a full length shot of him in this pose. There’s just something so casually sexy about his stance, and my caption notwithstanding, it gives every appearance of being an unstudied grace.

I’m loving that hand in his pocket. I’m loving the hint of stubble. His eyes have just a touch of the heavy-lidded appearance that makes my pulse quicken, and the cut of his jaw line… very nice, indeed. I’m forever a sucker for those forehead crinkles. And as we all know, it just never hurts to see Richard Armitage in profile.

berlinale posterized

Posterized edit.

It being a slow day at work, I played around with this image in my photo editor, and couldn’t help but notice that this image could easily be sort of an iconic man image.

I like this one. “Posterized”. It would be even better if I could crop the other guy out of the background, but maybe you see what I mean. Wouldn’t that be cool, printed on an old-fashioned tin and framed in my office?

berlinale IR

Infrared edit.

I also like this one. It’s kind of a black and white, but the filter is called infrared. I like the detail in the suit that the IR filter picked up.

Yes, this shot of the clothes somehow makes me want to get as close as possible and really… inspect them. Every inch.

Yum.

Ooooh, the lovely Guylty has up and edited the posterized version for me!

LOVE IT!

I have all kinds of ideas, now…. =)

Completely understandable. Just looking at this one somewhat scrambles the female mind. LOL!

Yum, indeed! The man can work a 3-piece suit like nobody’s business! The profile shot was an added *bonus* and he might be embarrassed (or maybe just slightly uncomfortable) to know that all the fangirling for a good long stretch of Valentine’s Day was precisely due to him in that pose, in that suit, looking just so. 💋

Looking “just so”… you nailed it! Whatever it is, he HAS it.

I normally call it #RichardBeingArmitage because there isn’t another adjective good enough to describe him. 😊

It’s my favorite shot also. I like the posterized version a lot. I think some fans know how to erase out part of an image, though I’ve never been too successful at it. I wouldn’t mind a package of note cards with that image.

That is a brilliant thought. And thanks to Guylty… those notecards just got that much better!

Not a specific fan of suits, nor of the forehead crinkles, but I see where you are coming from. I played with it. I’ll try and insert the pic in the comment.

Dunno why that image didn’t want to upload in the comments- I didn’t think it was all that big… but I put it right into the post now and it’s perfect! Thank you! For some reason I want that printed on metal, but Perry’s suggestion of note cards would be equally a cool item for any Armitaged woman. =)

Yeah, it was actually fairly small. Maybe it just didn’t work as a HTML insert. Just noticed some unsightly editing traces, though. Will send you cleaned up version by mail (I’m anally pedantic about things like that…) And yes, I think you are so right about the metal print idea – the picture somehow lends itself to a nice, old-fashioned logo in the top right corner. “Probably the best Richie in the world”. I love the idea of notecards, too.

LOL! I thought it was already great, but now, even better. I replaced the edit in the post above with “Iconic Man Version 3.0” and yeah, I am going to do the metal print. Notecards, t-shirts, metal prints… have fun, ladies!

YAY GUYLTY! The two of you have created a winner. I’m going to see if I can get some notecards made with this pic. (Would you believe, I never got around to getting a printer here in Mexico?)

I look forward to seeing those! Sounds like a great idea! Are you going to include a slogan? You could just put a neutral “Notes” in a nice flowing font on it. Or any other kind of slogan.

I’m thinking about it. I’m also thinking of an “assortment” set -maybe including one of your Berlin photos, Elvis and the screen shot of the Hobbit Cinemax interview.

That sounds like a great idea, I must say. (I loved his look in the Hobbit Cinemax interview – I’ve never been able to fully put my finger on it, but he looked stunning in that. The bright light that opens his eyes and drains away all the shadows?)

Which Cinemax interview? I googled it and found a couple. Is it the one where he appears with BC, EL and LE on a stage? Because yeah, he looks very hot in that one…

That’s the one I meant, although I am not sure whether that is the one Perry referred to. He really shone that day – hot, handsome, happy.

Suit ones rarely are my favourites just because they rarely hit me on the clothes front and they rarely show him to his best physical advantange but there isn’t a thing i don’t love about this! From the droolworthy quality and flow of that fabric and the cut, the tie and shirt to the man in it. I rarely thought so but looking at this i kept thinking he’s got a beautiful hairline together with the best profile in the world! Utterly, utterly gorgeous!

Love the posterized version, great for all kinds of stationary and things 🙂 can’t wait to see what you girls come up with!
