Limerick: Deleted Tweets

When Armitage joined Twitter, many were amazed

But in the past 10 months, many eyebrows were raised

I debated writing a spoof

About the mysterious goof

As his patterns are becoming quite crazed!

Yes, it seems that Richard has developed a new sport:

He’ll tweet this or that, then spontaneously abort!

When a notification arrives

Better screen cap and archive

Because the duration of his post is frequently short!

As a matter of fact, I’ve lost track of the numbers

Cosplayers, remarks, and selfies have gone under

Only one thing is sure

His reasoning is obscure

But it stirs speculation about whether he’s blundered.

In fact if I spoofed this I’d be tempted to write

Words that might very well cause the fandom to fight

Because some will defend

Even the strangest of trends

Like Tweet-Delete-Repeat-Now-Pretend-It’s-Out-of-Sight!

Once in awhile, these deletions make sense…

(Or at least amongst ourselves, we try to convince)

This wasn’t yet official!

That might not be judicial!

Perhaps he thought it might cause someone offense…

Other times, though, I’m entirely unclear

Why this tweet or that should just poof! Disappear!

A recent handsome selfie with gorgeous blue eyes

Did stir some discussions, but mostly just sighs =)

And the explanation, aborted, was queer!

So what’s going on in that mind of yours, Richard?

These tweets are becoming harder to catch than a lizard!

Was it comments about a new botox-app?

Because if it exists, I’d download it and clap!

And Hannibal or not, I did like that picture!

Certainly many of RA’s Tweets have been long-lived and winning…

But at this point, the disappearances do have my head spinning

And the overall effect:

Speculation unchecked!

But maybe… all this commotion has Armitage grinning?

Fabulous comment, very cleverly done, J! I am with you on your conclusion. Not that RA is deliberately stirring the sh*t, but that he may be flabberghasted-amused at the reactions he can provoke. Playing god much??? 😉 Hope it won’t become a habit, especially as I have just decided to reduce my Soc Media activities for a while. The excitement is just too much for me…

    • jholland · June 3, 2015

WHAT?! Reduce your social media activities? *Bawls* LOL yeah, that second deleted tweet with its weird explanation did make me wonder just how much he’s paying attention and if he can’t help himself from commenting somehow, then thinks better of it. So wishy washy lately. Sheesh.

      • Guylty · June 3, 2015

Reduced Social Media activity – applies only to Twitter. I don’t consider my blogging activities as SM, so that’ll continue. But Twitter has honestly scared me these last two days. Just can’t deal with that. And I don’t mean Mr A’s promo activities. Vague, yes, but that’s good marketing for you. Broaden the target group, extend the reach, by being as inclusive as possible. And I sympathise with him – I second-guess myself so often, I should really invest in a quality gagging device…

Oh boy, I don’t think I even want to know what scared you (I’m rarely on Twitter) mostly I look at it when Himself has tweeted, and lately that’s been a dicey proposition. Yes, I suppose I can relate to second-guessing oneself but it’s getting awkward. =) *snickers*

Yeah. Don’t ask. Nuff said. (except to add that I am a total sissy, an innocent, a naive country bumpkin and a fuddy-duddy frau, so my opinion doesn’t mean much…)

        • jholland · June 3, 2015

*Pfft* One shudders to ponder what your RAPS would be like if you *weren’t* such an innocent fuddy-duddy. =)

No, you’re not a fuddy duddy, if we’re talking about the same thing.

On social media, only Richard Armitage can get as much attention from untweeting as he does from tweeting.

Maybe being lost in the Highlands chasing kilts has its advantages. Lovely limerick but what happened now? Naughty drunk tweet or smth?

    • jholland · June 3, 2015

I don’t *think* it was particularly naughty or drunk. First was the tweet a couple of days ago with the new selfie with beard and clear blue eyes and youthful appearance, maybe a bit naughty in that he suggested via hashtag that we buy a bigger tv for Hannibal. It disappeared mysteriously, stirring much speculation, then today he tweeted a new pic showing just his eyes with some kind of puzzling “explanation” where he said he was changing the scenery because it was all about Hannibal/Will Graham (I think… I didn’t happen to screen cap it and now I’ve already forgotten exactly what the explanation was, except that my reaction was “huh?”) Then that one disappeared within a short period. LOL

      • Hariclea · June 4, 2015

Omg how confusing! I wonder what he thinks with putting and deleting! He’s torn between his naughty impulses and wanting to do good and the right and polite thing 🙂

Reblogged this on One Last time? Never and commented:
Ahh Mr. A…..Tweet, de-tweet, what does it matter..This limerick though, is great 🙂

    • jholland · June 3, 2015

Thanks for the re-blog, Tessa! And true… in the big scheme of things it’s totally no big deal! =)
